Want to learn more about Pure Fitness and know what to expect? Here are a few common questions we hear..

1. If this is my first session or class what should I expect?

Upon arrival you will be given a short tour of the gym, fill out a short health history and waiver, and then you will discuss your workout history, fitness goals, and any medical conditions with your certified personal trainer.
Then you will be put through a workout that will let the certified personal trainer know your fitness level, strength’s and weaknesses. Each session begins with a warm-up to prepare the body for exercise. After the warm-up, the trainer will instruct you through a 50 minute workout. The trainer’s role is to create a program that is specific to your goals and ensure each exercise is performed correctly and safely. In addition, our trainers spend a lot of time creating workouts that are not only effective but also fun. You will end with a 5 minute stretch and cool down.

2. What is the difference between Personal Training and Group Fitness Classes?

Working with a Certified Personal Trainer ensures the exercises performed are specific to your goals and are executed safely. Our team of Personal Trainers has the knowledge and skills required to work around injuries and medical conditions that make effective exercise difficult. One-on-One Personal Training offers a schedule that is flexible and based on your needs.

For Group classes the workouts are written for all fitness levels and not specific to your needs. You will leave with a full body workout and wanting to come back for more. The classes are scheduled and you will need to sign up through the Mindbody app so the instructor can know how many to expect.

3. What types of clients can we accommodate?

With our team of Certified Personal Trainers we specialize in training brides, pre and post pregnancy, post rehabilitation (physical therapy/surgery), post injury, the older adult population, and clients of all fitness levels. Call us today and let us know how we can help you!

4. How many times a week should I workout?

If you are new to working out twice a week would be recommended. If you have a current workout routine then 3 times a week would be ideal. We recommend not coming on consecutive days to avoid overuse injuries and give your muscles a chance to recover.

5. How long until I see results?

We take measurements during your second session and re-measure every 4 weeks to track your progress. You will most likely notice that your clothes are fitting better, you have more energy, and some of those aches and pains are gone before you notice anything about the scale. These are all benefits of an exercise program that is carefully created to meet your goals. We usually see results with each client between 4-6 weeks and usually not with your weight at the beginning. You will first notice your inches and body percent fat diminish and then you will start to see the numbers on the scale drop.

6. What are some ways to help with soreness after my workouts?

Soreness can present itself 24-48 hours after strenuous exercise and is perfectly normal. The worst thing you can do it sit around and do nothing. Keep moving, drink plenty of fluids, eat nutrient dense foods, stretch, and massage if necessary to help reduce soreness.
